Inuit High Kick

An ancient test of athleticism and skill is dramatically and sensuously portrayed in this 2 minute short film. Johnny Issaluk, a long-time Inuit games athlete from Chesterfield Inlet who now lives in Nunavut’s capital of Iqaluit, shows the viewer how truly awe-inspiring the one-foot high kick event is. In super slow-motion, Johnny jumps several feet into the air, kicks a seal skin target, and lands on the same foot he kicked with, never losing control or balance.
